08.17.09 - Be the winner of two books on faith and culture.

CeaseFireStrateiges (CFS) just announced the winner of our very first, annual, 'Cultural Diplomat' award. And then, Assist News picked up a story about the event.

Dan Merchant, the creator of the documentary "Lord, Save Us From Your Followers", has also wrote a compendium book that supplements the documentary.

In honor of our 'Cultural Diplomat' for 2008 and to help get the discussion going about faith, culture, and the transition from 'culture warrior' to 'cultural diplomat' -- CeaseFireStrategies will be offering a free copy of the "Lord, Save Us From Your Followers" book, as well as a copy of "Cease Fire, the War is Over!" by Eric Bumpus and Tim Moranville, to a maximum of two potential winners.

Here is how things work:

Join us at http://www.ceasefirestrategies.net by signing up for a free account. Then, confirm your registration through the confirmation email that will be sent to your email address that you used to register.

The 100th member to join will be our first winner.

We don't want to leave out those who are already a part of the forums, and we want to sweeten the deal a bit, so everyone who joins the site is welcome to invite others to join in the conversations taking place. If the 100th person is an invite of a forum member, then that member will also receive a copy of both books mentioned above. In order for this referral to count, however, the one to refer the 100th member must also be a member of the forums. If the 100th member was not referred by anyone or joined because of our announcement, then only that individual will receive the two free books.

Should the winner already own one or both of the aforementioned books, the book(s) already owned will be substituted by books (chosen by CFS) within the "Faith, Film and Culture" category of the CFS store at: http://www.ceasefirestrategies.net/store (The books qualified for substitution do NOT include the books in the Biographies sub-category.)

The deadline for this contest offer is September 30th, at midnight, Pacific Time. If 100 members have not been reached by that time, the most recent member will receive only a copy of "Cease Fire, the War is Over!" Finally, automated (spam) registrations are monitored by CFS forum admin. They will be deleted and will not count towards the member count.

12.11.08 - My Goodness! So much is going on. Here is a quick breakdown of the top three items on our "latest happenings" list.

1) We are re-building our forums as we lost the original board. Without re-hashing a nearly 45 day story, we are at least grateful to have working forums again. They are now located on a stable hosting service and can still be found through www.ceasefirestrategies.net

2) Our 'radio' show / podcast is back! Under the new name "Cultural Diplomacy" and with a lot more flexibility for production quality and sponsor growth, we now feel comfortable about moving forward. The show can be found on the CFS Forums at:  www.ceasefirestrategies.net

3) CFS founders Tim Moranville and Eric Bumpus (yeah, I'm typing in the third person) were accepted into Xulon's new anthology book, "We Support You! Love, America". This book is a collection of poetry and letters to the troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, and it will also be distributed to Military Chaplains at the Pentagon. The book went in to general sale on December 4th. You can find a copy in the CFS Store

07.06.08 - The CFS Radio show was featured on the front page of BlogTalkRadio. This was for our episode with Craig Detweiler and John Marks, talking about their new documentary, "Purple State of Mind".
